Nutrition and follow-up

Dietaliv

Dietaliv brings together three inseparable applications: dietetic consultation software for the practitioner, a food-tracking space for the patient, and a recipe library with meal planning.

What the Dietaliv suite covers

  • Dietaliv Pro for consultation, medical history, nutritional calculations and the documents given to patients.
  • Dietaliv Patient for daily follow-up, goals, constraints and progress.
  • Dietaliv Recettes for the library, menu ideas and adaptation to the patient's profile.
  • Food analysis and calculations based on the CIQUAL database (the French food composition database) and the quantities entered.
  • Exchanges between modules: patient export, re-import on the Pro side, documents and library.
  • An English version of the application is planned.

A suite of three connected applications

Dietaliv brings Dietaliv Pro, Dietaliv Patient and Dietaliv Recettes together around a single patient journey: the professional prepares the consultation and the goals, the person being supported records their daily life, and the observations then return to the professional before the next appointment. The Recettes module completes the set to prepare weekly meal plans that are compatible with the patient record.

Communication between these applications relies on separate export and import files. A patient plan is not a full backup of the patient record: the flows serve different purposes.

Dietaliv Pro: dietetic consultation and nutritional calculations

The software helps structure consultations and record the profile, history, symptoms, conditions, diets, allergies and eating habits. Its consultation form includes in particular a guided medical history, a daily food record, tracked goals and the documents to hand over.

The calculation tool brings together anthropometric measurements, basal metabolic rate estimates, the energy target, the macronutrient breakdown and the distribution of intake across meals. The data must always be interpreted and checked by the professional, according to the clinical situation.

Guided medical history, daily food record and the CIQUAL database

The medical history offers modules adapted to different situations such as diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome, bariatric surgery or feeding difficulties. Some modules specify the required food textures and liquid levels.

A day’s eating can be described meal by meal, then quantified with the help of AI and matched against CIQUAL food composition data. The professional checks the quantities, the associated food and the values before any use. A proposed day must respect the constraints recorded in the patient record.

Resource library, documents and invoicing

Dietaliv Pro gathers advice sheets, PDFs and images in a searchable library. The practitioner can select materials to hand over as they are or adapt them, when the assistance feature is available, in order to compose an end-of-session document.

The application provides for the generation of documents and invoices, with practitioner settings and tracking of the documents issued. These features are described in the supplied user guide; their actual operation must be verified on the published version before any commercial launch.

Dietaliv Patient: from goals to follow-up between consultations

The patient receives a plan resulting from the consultation, finds their goals, instructions and items to avoid, and can then record their meals, portions, water, weight and observations on their phone. They can report what they actually consumed, even when it differs from the original plan.

Before the next appointment, a follow-up export lets the professional review the information entered. The user guide specifies that this export does not include meal photographs. In the context of eating disorders, some figures are hidden in the patient interface.

Dietaliv Recettes: menus compatible with the patient record

The third module brings together a recipe library and a weekly meal planner. Recipes can be entered manually or prepared using a prompt in an external AI assistant, then pasted into the application.

Before being added to the planner, recipes are checked against the requirements recorded in the patient file: allergies, dietary restrictions, food textures and liquid consistencies. The professional can then prepare a recipe file for import into the Patient application, a PDF and a shopping list.

Optional AI and privacy

Some aids are used with an API key; other features work by copy and paste into an external assistant. The user guide requires checking the results proposed by the AI before import and stresses the anonymisation of the documents submitted.

Health information is sensitive. The professional must apply the privacy and compliance measures appropriate to their practice. Dietaliv is an aid for organising and supporting dietetic care, not a substitute for clinical judgement or medical advice.
